It was our pride, that we are governed by law,
not governance over us by fallible men
but government formed of men who rise above
what is base in their own person, and give good law.
We carved, into great granite buttes, the likeness
of men who shaped the government we cherish,
trusting their legacy to last well with the stone.
But some men hide their mischief under the shadow
of chosen wars that are shameful to us all,
so our nation is known for evil done abroad
inviting ever more evil back upon us,
and not the good, in answer to our own good;
such men hold up only a bush to those granite faces.
See how we must act, to earn, and to again possess
our solemn pride in our government of law.
